Is the Phantasmal Doll Accessory Worth Buying? - Metaphor: ReFantazio Guide - IGN

Oct 17, 2024

When visiting Gloamhall in Grand Trad at night in Metaphor: ReFantazio, you'll notice that the shop is selling a rather expensive accessory for 49,000 Reeve: the Phantasmal Doll accessory. This page explains whether the Phantasmal Doll is worth buying in Metaphor: ReFantazio by explaining what it does and its effects.

The Phantasmal Doll accessory gives its wearer an additional action per turn, allowing them to perform two consecutive actions. This may sound great at first, but the user is given the extra action by "stealing" another party member's, making it so they don't move during that turn.

We would recommend only buying the Phantasmal Doll in Metaphor: ReFantazio if you want a specific party member to act twice consecutively against a specific boss or enemy to exploit their weakness multiple times. For example, we put it on our Mage Protagonist as soon as we saw a Blue Elmenta so that they could use two Fire attacks in a row to kill it before it fled, then removed the accessory afterward.

Because it is so expensive, especially in the early-game, you should only purchase the Phantasmal Doll if you can afford it and you know you'll actually use it. You won't get much use out of it if you aren't using it strategically and swapping it in and out based on your party's Skills and the enemy's weakness.

If you do plan on purchasing the Phantasmal Doll, make sure you visit Gloamhall at night on Idlesday as you'll receive a 20% discount, making it 39,200 Reeve. It's still pricy, but every little helps. You'll find Gloamhall in Sunshade Row in Grand Trad, as shown in our screenshot below:
